As I write this, my time in the House of Brigid program is coming to an end and naturally I have mixed feelings about that. Perhaps feeling only one emotion is normal at many times, but remembering both the pros and cons of any scenario should always be a part of our internal calculus. I came to House of Brigid without knowing the good and the bad that it would bring me; discovering what these experiences are has been great. One of the few cons is that it truly is hard to see your family and old friends when you live thousands of miles apart. Who would have thought. However the good that House of Brigid has brought me is wonderful. One of the reasons that I came to House of Brigid is that I wanted to take some time to intentionally become better at making friends. I have had the blessing to become friends with my roommates, even though we have different activities, beliefs, and personalities. What I am most thankful for from House of Brigid so far is the time that I have been able to spend with my housemates, Wexford HOB, and friends from Newman; they have shaped this experience for me.
