As we near the end of the Kennedy Park National School’s academic calendar, we, the 5th class teachers in the school, cast our eyes back upon what has been during the school year. Like any other year, the year 2009/2010 has brought many high points, successes and achievements, coupled with the occasional failure and disappointment along the way. These things are all life experiences for our students as they progress and develop in our care. These experiences make all of them become better as students, classmates, friends, and also better as human beings. However, we firmly believe that the outstanding success achieved this year, has been the spiritual reawakening our children have experienced. The wonderful work carried out by The House of Brigid workers has been monumental to this end. House Director, Carolyn Pirtle, along with volunteers Chris Labadie and Martha Calcutt have worked at all times with an infectious enthusiasm and vigour that has left the children refreshed and spiritually restored. They have shown total commitment at all times in everything they did. Never did your workers let fatigue, distance, a busy schedule or inclement weather, which there was plenty of, hinder their work in any way. In preparing our students for their individual class Mass, Carolyn, Chris and Martha showed an attention to detail that was breathtaking to see. These people have left nobody in any doubt about the professionalism and skill they bring to their work. They have shown the utmost dedication and diligence which has helped make this pilot year for the House of Brigid community an undoubted success.
We would like to take this opportunity on behalf of ourselves and our 5th class students, to express our sincere gratitude to Carolyn, Chris, and Martha for all their hard work during the year. Their work with the children was very much appreciated by us. We look forward to working in close partnership with your community next year and beyond.
Kindest Regards,
