We just returned from an epic trip to Northern Ireland! As Patrick mentioned, we started with a day in Dublin where we had the pleasure to see the Notre Dame Glee Club perform a short sacred concert in the Pro-Cathedral. It was so wonderful to see so many familiar faces and to visit with good friends whom many of us had not seen in at least a year. Not to mention the music was just as fabulous as always!

On Friday morning we took a train from Dublin to Belfast in Northern Ireland where we based ourselves for the weekend. We spent the rest of that day making our way around Belfast city, taking in some of the murals and visiting the old stomping grounds of the great C. S. Lewis who was born and raised there. We visited the church where he and his brother were baptized and visited a little memorial to him outside of the library which depicts him peeking inside of a wardrobe.

After loading up with good Irish breakfasts the next day, Saturday was spent touring the Giant’s Causeway and the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge. We had a BEAUTIFUL day of weather with visibility from our location in Northern Ireland straight across the water to the coast of Scotland. Both the main attractions of our day were epic and something that pictures could never do justice but I’m posting them anyway!

It was a really fun weekend and most of all I was just glad to spend some quality time as a community! We’re now back in Wexford and ready to have a solid last two and a half weeks! Our time left will be a good mix of work and meeting with friends for the start of our “goodbyes.” We will continue our responsibilities with the choirs until the end of the month and start cleaning and wrapping things up, making sure that everything is organized and ready to go for next year’s group!

We crossed that!
