This morning was our first real snow since we’ve been here! Real, white, cold, wet, flaky, flakes of snow! It has melted already, but it made me so happy to walk through a Winter Wonderland on my Way to Work! And I think I must have told several people how much I miss the snow, because I’ve had about 7 people ask me if I’m happy now. And I am!

You’ve already heard about our preparations for the St. Brigid service…and what a success it was! Apparently it was the biggest crowd yet and it was a beautiful service! There were so many people involved who helped with reading, gift-bearing, setting up the sacred space, all the musicians…it really went so well! The service contained a sprinkling rite, prayer intentions, lots of Irish tunes, and prayerful reflections on the four elements and St. Brigid.  To represent the fire, water, air, and earth: Nick lit a huge fire, Emily turned on the flowing fountain, and several members of our youth choir brought up bowls of incense and symbols of earth. And as you’ve heard, everyone got to take a homemade Brigid cross! It was a wonderful evening followed by a reception for the volunteers at Fr. Denis’s home.

After a great celebration of St. Brigid, we went to a celebration of American Football! We went home and grabbed some deviled eggs, cupcakes, and spinach artichoke dip and watched the game at Joe Ryan’s! We didn’t get to see any commercials, but it was nice to see such a close game.  And we did get to see Destiny’s Child reunite! I think we all fell asleep for some part of it (I fell asleep when the power went out…what was that all about?!?) but finally at 4:00 AM we had a winner and went to bed after a looooong weekend!

Monday night was another successful YSBMW night with Kennedy Park and tonight is the first night of Passion Play rehearsals! Stay tuned to hear how it went!

God Bless!
