This past weekend, and really the entire week preceding, have been jam-packed full of holiday goodness. We’ve had our fair share of work–at least two of us were at each of Clonard’s six Christmas Masses–but we’ve also filled these last days with some of the best examples of hospitality I could have hoped for. We’ve both hosted and been hosted by some of our great friends in Ireland, and it truly makes a place feel like home when you’re able to share in food and conversation with those you care about. My dad has thoroughly enjoyed this, as well, and has commented several times on how lucky he feels to get to have conversations with the locals rather than visit as a tourist who only gets to see life from the outside.

We were invited to a parishioner's for Christmas dinner, but I'd already ordered our turkey, so we cooked that one for a Christmas eve midday meal.

And, as enjoyable as this time has been, I think we’re all ready to step back and catch our breath before diving into the New Year. Brigid’s Day, Lent, and a veritable slew of Confirmation retreats are on the horizon, but for now, we rest, and wish you all a very blessed Christmas season!
